Despite Resistance

Long P3 weekend - and my resistance was strong. Saturday I called my sister - and I was so ready to run away. "Run Away!!" Monica encouraged, "You're allowed to!" but I knew that the more I wanted to run away the more I had to stay. SO, I did.

But then Saturday night, (while still wanting to run away) I accidentally set my clock BACK an hour (instead of SPRING FORWARD) and was 2 hours late for Sunday P3. I busily criticized myself the entire drive there... LOTS AND LOTS (my next art project is making a "little meanie" so I can tell her to shut up when she criticizes!) - if only you knew how hard I was on myself. When I finally got there I was so resistant to even going in that I sat for almost an hour outside (at least I got my morning pages done!) Let me just say that when I at last went in, as not-okay as I have ever been, I fell into the arms of amazing support, cleared the air of a few things, and then had the enormous blessing to work with a student whose eyes reflected so much of myself I was blown away. SHE was amazing, and as I worked what I knew and listened carefully to my intuition -(OMG I surprise myself, and when I am willing to listen to my intuition and actually ACT on it!) I made healing strides in my own work. It was meant for me to come back on Sunday because SHE was there to remind me of who I am and how to take care of myself. She sat outside with me during a little break as I snapped some photos. As she grinned at me, full of all the energy of finding herself - all the burbles of feeling loved just exploding from those big brown eyes - I knew there was a reason I needed this weekend. Not only to prove my "little meanie" wrong, but to make a new connection in my life. This image is exactly what I saw this weekend in our work!

Funny - this week I am headed to yet another workshop. I am attending a conference on working with RESISTANT clients! Go figure! Someday I will get a clue!
