Explorations of mind, paths, and life

Outstreched Hand

Posted on February 16, 2007 - Filed Under self reflect

I stretch
Reaching for myself
Hesitant and anxious
Is that place cold?
Perhaps wet like fall leaves after a drizzle
Or warm like the sun on green leaves at dusk

I know
The only place of truth
Is there, quietly hidden
Dodging my efforts to understand
The hint of Raspberry in a mouthful of chocolate
Or a grain of sand in my Birkenstocks

I tire
Stretching towards the unfamiliar known
Tattering and spinning mindfully
Speaking truths so vulnerable
Billowing out like warm breath on a brisk morning
Softly pressing lashes on your cheek

I am
Naked in my truth
Hoping for a gleam of acceptance
To curb the anxiety of my mind
